Outside My Window

I guess you would figure out from the picture why I don't want to keep my window open.

Anyway it stopped snowing this evening and workmen were actually chopping the ice off the sidewalk paths. Many cars buried and a few owners digging their luxury items out of the drifts. Of course I am just talking about my street between two avenues. :)

When someone asks you for a recommendation on Linkedin

Lol

I got hit up several times yesterday and once two weeks ago...

I'm thinking I don't want to have to clean my profile up there, that's not what I use it for...

hmm

Then I came to know that my profile is what they are after are, they've already scoped me out. Dude, I'm a creative.

For the first person I wrote the recommendation and sent it to them for a review. I offered to sit on it for a few more days and they said yes, sit on it.

I was just listening to the guerilla marketer's plan to get a job ahead of the rest of the pack and they are making a deal about this linkedin recommendation. When people look at someone's recommendations they are likely to look into you and offer you a job.

Now that really isn't what I had in mind at all. I highly recommend the guerilla marketer references below. Narrowing down your prospects and having absolute clarity about the job you are seeking, highly recommended.

For non-creative people clean up your Linked-In profile and follow http://www.wikihow.com/Write-a-LinkedIn-Recommendation and good luck!

The Early Bird caught the worm, I'm now studying

outside Parker

© 2010 Bubblegumvision

I left my upper east side townhouse (I rent, its not mine) at 7am and arrived at the Staten Island Ferry 7:58pm.

Stepping off the ferry and going out to where the buses were I saw that I had just missed the Wagner shuttle, it passed me by. I had to find out where to get it. Lol I asked the police.

Anyway five hours later I was "been there done that." The shuttle I took in was the last shuttle out. I made the perfect time.

Interesting to note all the students in the return shuttle were on internships. All were paying for their internship except one. He had a paying job, not an internship. Yep that's why I chose this program and not the competitor. They were saying if you pay us $125 extra a month you can work in a lawfirm as an intern without pay. Funny I thought. Let's see in 1974 I was the administrator of a law firm at a very young age making more money than they'll ever see. You know just talent, the 4 squares, Knowledge, Skill, Attitude and Habits. Yep I had them down since I was five years old making my first dollar on a beautiful flower I created. :P

So yeah I am five hours behind on everything. Still I can start my studies right away and finish the certificate pronto. Hours is all you put in, hours I piss those away everyday on governmental junk. This is easy.

I have on active file this new law giving employers even more money if they employ someone who has been unemployed 60 days or more for at least year. The employer does not have to pay taxes on that employee. Yep I've got a google alert on that one. Tracking it down. Want to know about all the people who get hired on it and what happened to them during that year and after that year. Why I think I've got my investigative journalism project Woot! Bingo!

Staten Island is amazing in the snow. I took some pictures. Later I'll enhance this post.

The shuttle van did not have 4 wheel drive so we were swerving and lost momentum when we picked up a second group of St. John's students half way up the hill. LOL I said you know I was a ski instructor in a couple of ski towns a while back. Yep all that's missing here is 4-wheel drive. Honestly Telluride and Killington images were floating as I realized the ski bank that I might end on was up the Wagner Hill among snow flakes the size of my the jumbo clip in my hair.

Sometimes investigative Journalism can be more punishing than the law

Today I was thinking about the major wrongs or injustices that had been claimed against as well as many others. I received an invitation in my email to compete for an award on social journalism.

I thought that legislation was the rope that I was going to pull on but whew! how long, how long has this been going on.

Yep, I just checked in my awards closet, if I squeeze it yep I could stand one more award.

Incredibly bad service but yes I am pulling through

1. a. Today I had to call up the school re my voucher since I had not heard back from them. They had the voucher and were trying to figure out what to do about the mistake WorkForce1 in the end date of the voucher. WorkForce one gave me a month to finish 300 hour course. Lol The school said there is no way that can be finished, it takes six months and usually is extended another six months.

b. I emailed WorkForce1 and asked for a correction and they gave one. Then I called the school. I asked when I get to staten island ferry on the other side then what happens. Its not clear. Finally they tell me there is a free shuttle to the school every hour. Maybe not tomorrow if it snows. The weather report states in the afternoon. I will be there right when the school opens.

I really hope this is the end of the muck, I am starting to get upset.

2. After speaking to my next door neighbor about his radio and band practice blasting in my apartment, particularly after 10pm at night and they stating they would keep it down they are at it again. Ah Ha! now I see they are morons. Well I've included in them in my legal brief that I'm presenting to the 45 minute lawyer on Tuesday. Nuff said. I am not their babysitter. All day long and even into the night blasting a radio show in my room.

3. a. I had to call the Henry Street Settlement that was suppose to be a one stop. It was not. All they did was submit my medicaid application. I call them to tell them that the Food Stamp center said they did not handle HEAP. They said that the Food Center did. They asked if I got the food stamps and I said yes. They expressed that they were surprised. Clearly incompetent lol exactly $1,350 to live on for the whole year. What do you think?

b. I researched again and found that you have to go down to 34th street and file for heap. After Staten Island is completed I will make that my next stop.

4. a. I spoke to the senator advocate for the 3rd time about my unemployment and they again had to followup with their contact. I asked them if I can submit the recalculation form and request a Labor Board hearing as they continue on. They said they recommended that. Lol oh really?

b. I faxed my recalculation on with the late statement from Labor department stating that they were right with no reason or explanation.

5. a. I want to take the New York State Real Estate Sales Person remedial course that is now required of all brokers and any one who does not currently have a sales license. I've been working on this for days. Finally I got an answer. Basically I straightened out the school and their accounting billing department. I the two to communicate with each other. I have to find out how much a most likely required useless and pricey book that will be outdated quickly is. I'll try to see if I can get it another way.

b. I think by tomorrow I will be registered for that course. Its really lame what they do in Real Estate Education.

I mean really how pathetic. I want to sue the law firm that played the labor department game of 3 months employment, then let you go, and so on. Then when I force the issue of permanent employment years later because they kept putting me off. I passed in flying colors all of their tests, some of them personally invasive. They used that I go incredibly ill for two days Christmas and the next two days to state they did not need me any more. They sent me a rejection letter in February of that year acting as if they never even met with me, very casually. I worked there I very successfully worked there for five years as a temporary. To top it off the scum rehired me as a secretary a year and a couple of months later.

It makes a very strong statement about the New York State Labor Department and as well the Federal Labor Department and Secretary. It tells a great story about the ghetto worker in the United States. About how color and color alone is used to discriminate. How quotas are established to cross discriminate and how age is a requirement for all employment applications. Above all age is a strong factor of discrimination. We have these fat ass congressmen trying to purge those 60 and over right now. Trying to get them to retire. Lol liars all. They started at big 3 letters in the Hudson Valley long ago. They started purging 35 year olds and that was under President Clinton. How gratifying that the foreigners they used to replace these highly qualified individuals have turned 35 also and they have been let go. The spear head leader of that corporation is where? Somehwere city on some big elephant thinking what a great job they did. What a joke, what a stupid joke about democracy. Democracy is not a desireable factor when choosing a country. The factor is can you work at something that is rewarding to you or are you to be exploited in every way by a bunch of fat asses.

From Whence is Rock Bottom?

Bloomberg had a response, he said, to those questioning the plan’s viability: “Fuhgeddaboudit. We’re not cutting back. We’re not turning back. We’re still on course to hit our affordable housing targets on time.... Some of us are old enough to remember what New York was like when the city seemed to hit bottom in the ’70s. We saw what decades of housing abandonment and neglect did to our communities. And we’re not about to let it happen again. Not now. Not ever.”--NYU Law Furman Center Event
The 70s, Violin and Childhood Quilt, a modeling agency, housing that constantly let you down
Now please I was a mighty young girl when I brought myself with violin and childhood quilt to New York City circa 1972. No special provisions given to me. I funded myself with babysitting money. I had an interview with the world's top modeling agency. Lol I just wanted to venture forth in the world and it was my excuse. Once I found out yes I was in well then I said no. Lol I proved that I was "beautiful." I refused to sell myself off that way. My beautiful daddy had told me but I had to find out to really know. Lol and I did venture forth into the world.

Typist? lol I was a Texas typing champ (people have said I would not tell people that if I were you).
I worked all hours as a typist, a conference typist at the UN at night, an assistant to the investment bankers at night, cutting their type and professionally pasting it in the right place. Fending off so many employers bombastic advances. I kicked ass even in those days. I put them in their place. I moved on up and up and up. I of lots of enviable certifications in the IT world; lots of experience. I still have plenty of brainpower to go so watch out!

Housing in the 70s?
The City went bankrupt a few months after I arrived.
42nd, Grand Central, YWCA sold housing to Health and Racket Club and kicked us all out in a month.
W 13th, Markle, Salvation Army they kicked out all us young girls to renovate for senior citizens only after a few months.
72nd Street, a Nun's convent. after 6 months I decided to go to London and Paris as a model. lol I got my certificate in French from a place that did not speak English. That was really fun looking back. I really starved because I would not be a model. Especially when I was in this place across from St. Paul's in London with Twiggy's photographer and he said I was the new Marilyn Monroe. I did not even know who she was but I did not want to be the new anyone. My pictures were on Bond Street in London. Fun looking back.
I returned to New York and got my own apartment on West 71st street. It was an SRO and they kicked out all of these aging musicians. I cried when I found out. Equity owns the place now and they charge $3000 for the tiny room that started out $200 but wound up to be $700 before I left 7 years later. The entire time they were constructing all over me. One thing I must tell you is that people were not smoking like they are too day. People had decorum. Though its true right around the corner a monster burned me with a cigarette as she was flailing about with her cigarette walking on the street.

I moved with drummer boy to the burned out section of Park Slope. I think you've got the picture. At least the bright side of the picture. Pure, unadulterated bootstrapping. No help from the city. Lol we did not even have the internet then. I had BBS online though. I was totally in to the information technology from 1968 because I wanted to know.

Yesterday was the first time I applied for food stamps in my life. This is a statement about the city and its discriminations. For I bootstrapped myself to where people with Ph.D's don't go years ago and then I fell because of incredible legislation by President Clinton's democratic Congress that is continued on to this day.

For this food stamp process I had to pay $10 transportation fees and walk through no sidewalk places. I had to get screening in one place 2 hours and then at the food stamp place at 14th street for 5 hours. 5 hours with CNN propaganda programming me. They put your information in the system and they finger print you. They lie about what it means to be in the system. I have to do it because I don't know what the future is. Its just one less stress for me.

Free financial and legal services, finally
In the process I did acquire financial and legal services so I can kick Shitibank's ass and Lenox Hill's ass [after all I've done I received a bill collector threat yesterday] and my current landlord's ass. I will be given 45 Minutes for each. I have my powerpoint presentations for such service ready for next week. PowerPoint? Yes because I already know that I know more than they do. What I want is their connection. I will give a simple 5 minute presentation so when they do their manipulative stuff, I'm like Slide 5. Its a war out there.

I just want to get some of this NYC garbage off of me so I can proceed to my mayoral path. Lol I'll have billions before I come to office. I'll do good for the people instead of poverty figureheads and rich buddies and customers. I have already done good for the people but in the next years I will be doing so much more. I was not able to get my Community Board app in because of the sudden drop in my unemployment and medicaid. I have to deal with that. I was at the last two crucial and needed tests. The only tests I needed and Medicaid dropping me after 5 months of service when asked they stated haughtily that they had sent me a recertification and I had not answered. I asked for Proof and they had none. They had not done so. I gave it to Chuck Schumer over a week ago via snail mail and have heard nothing. Yesterday I reapplied from scratch. I was told it will take 8 weeks to be approved. The only expedition is for pregnant women. I have this bet going who is going to get there first Chuck Schumer or my app? And when Chuck Schumer's crew gets there well they will have learned a valuable lesson.

Housing in the Bloomberg era?

Housing. No I am sorry Mayor Bloomberg but opportunities for housing were far better in the 70s. I'm not saying easy, by no means, not easy. Which would put a light on how incredibly difficult housing has been in the artificially extended Bloomberg era.

Difficult? Valueless housing that is trillions overvalued, overinflated. If you took an introspective look you'd find it is the core of the economic blight. For sure.

What is affordable housing in Mr. Bloomberg's world?

Its Section 8 housing wait list closed since 2007. Its people living in cardboard boxes, dying there, people being transported in the homeless white truck to the boundaries of the city, plane tickets to people who have someone who will vouch for responsibility at the other end. Those people often just come right back to the city.

Its minimum $20,000 for low income people. Its providing affordable housing for those making $70,000 and above. Its Mr. Bloomberg's daughter with a $2.2 million loft in Soho. Affordable for who? Its Mr. Bloomberg starting his mayoral career with $100 million and now with over several billion dollars.

It is corrupt housing and civil courts where you have to be a formidable power like me to win. It is a credit reporting service for landlords that make thousands homeless because some lawyer told them to put their rent in escrow and the landlord took them to court. When a landlord takes you to court its all over for you. You are now a victim of the non-uniform funded by the tenant Landlord credit reporting system. Just love it my last agent charged $150 for a credit check. I watched him commingle the money. Lol commingle hardly the credit check fee is outside of the law. Another company charges just $25 credit check. People constantly lose their credit check fees when its found that a slum landlord took them to court because they fixed their plumbing and rat problem. The tenant loses, not the city, not the landlord and most assuredly not the corrupt housing court.

I realize I am special, I have common sense and experience. The guy below me said about the grossly malfunctioning toilet that went on for 8 months to not pay rent. My friend who owns a coop said do not pay rent. I paid rent. I finally caught the super and brought him in to fix it. I have a record of all that. Now we be going to court for that and other things. They will of course be given the right to settle or as they have put it to me on day one for inquiring about the neighbor's bed bug warning, suffer the penalty. Who do ya thing is going to win despite the corruption. I believe sir it will be me. It will show the dereliction of the City run agency, HPD and the impotence of 311. It will show that affordable housing is a misnomer for further cushioning the butts of the fat hogs of the financial district.

Isn't it true that affordable housing really means affordable for the landlords?

Lol I have never ever had a break on my rent. One thing for sure when Bloomberg became mayor the landlords stopped fixing their apartments. Now why is that?

Another WSJ article mentioned JobAngels on Twitter

So I revisited it. I read every post through November. There was an article written by this game developer company that I am very familiar with. I play their game for competitive research.

They were calling job candidates out for having different job stories on different social networking sites. They were calling those candidates liars.

Hmm Strong words I said for a game company very well known among millions to be a liar. I would not be listening to any advice they had. I would never want to work for them. I want to compete with them.

That's the problem with this market. Suddenly the worst companies and recruiters ever are giving people advice.

I would never want to work for any of these companies.

If a company is scouting out what I do on a social network I really don't want to work for them. If they instead have a business lunch or breakfast with me to talk about what I can do for their company then yes they stand a chance.

That's how I got my job as an officer for an Ivy League college over lunch. I became the administrator for a top brain trust on a conference call with about eight of the top management.

I find all the social networking and blogging for that matter gauche. They each filled my time for my amusement. I'll not be networking on any of them that's for sure. Sure people ask me to be a friend or network or if they can follow and I go along. I'm in the high numbers on facebook because I play a game and on twitter because when I'm active I lead the way. I rarely use LinkedIn. I'm on there as a blogpreneur.

In this fastrac class someone said that you have done so many things and done them well. That is true. Do you have a problem with that? Then I don't want to work for you. There is no problem then, you aren't offering me a job. Right?

I am not a robot

Emails are catching up after my last phone conversations with the college. Two emails one from the school that they would lose the money if they lost the voucher and the other from WorkForce1 stating that I have to go to the school to sign.

I wrote back that I am not a robot and to please return what I sent to the college by delivery confirmation. The college wrote they will lose the money if the voucher gets lost. LOL what money? They have not set me up with the course and I am therefore not taking the course. I haven't signed the second line and that is what this petty and non-intelligent conversation is about. I wrote them I do not believe the voucher will be lost. If it is I will send my entire WorkForce1 experience to interested Senators.

My $66 a week zero unemployment benefit plus my income tax return pays my $1100 rent, utilities and food and job hunting.

So they want to take at least $10.00 more of my money and over 3 hours of my time. I already paid $4.90 to mail the voucher. I allot myself $10 a week to eat. This last week I had to deduct the $4.90 and $4.50 for the round trip to WorkForce1 to sign and pickup the voucher. Yes it is a 1.5 hour roundtrip to WorkForce1 with pedestrian sidewalks that you can patch together for a somewhat safe trip.

They are asking me not to eat this week because of their mistakes. Sorry no can do.

I chose this college because the Gaitlin online course is nationally recognized. The program emphasizes research by giving Westlaw access from home and it follows up with free National paralegal certificate training (whether you are eligible to take the test or not).

There was only one other paralegal certificate offering and it was not from a college. It did not allow Westlaw access from home and it made you do the paralegal training manually, that is where the emphasis was. They slated you for working in an unautomated office. geez Additionally you were not getting the full course. You had to pay thousands out of your pocket to do so. They would accept $100 each week to place you in a paralegal internship. You would not be paid. Lol top of the line legal secretary with over 10 years experience who has won four pro se cases this year. Not a match. Who has already done litigation research with westlaw. I have already been trained in Westlaw and Pace.

I was glad to have gone through the WorkForce1 process. It is truly exploitive of the masses of workers.

Unfortunately all of the WorkForce1 paralegal certification training offerings are not American Bar Association recommended, a fact that I pointed out to them. If you want to get a job with a paralegal certificate, you sure better have certified from an American Bar Association. Answer. None. Ignored. I am not a robot.

Blue Cross/Blue Shield started our capitalistic insurance disaster

Blue Cross and Blue Shield Lead the Way

  1. The American Hospital Association designed Blue Cross as hospitals organized to reduce competition for pre-paid hospital services plans. As a non-profit corporation, Blue Cross was exempt from insurance regulations. Blue Shield was born to organize in the same way for physicians, and the ensuing lucrative market enticed other insurers into the health field when they found commercial insurers could charge lower premiums to healthy people, luring customers away from non-profits obligated to charge the same rate for all.--How Did Health Insurance Begin

  2. Note that other countries started offering healthcare to their citizens through nationalized healthcare. The United States did not.

An interesting lesson about buying shoes because the sidewalks are icy

I was taking this entrepreneurial workshop this last week and got stuck in the tourist zone of mid-town manhattan in the snow.

I had avoided getting new boots because my apartment and building have a history of bed bugs. Since its like a dog kennel in this building I vowed I'd not buy any boots until I moved out.

However I was slipping and sliding because the stores etc were not cleaning up the street.

After almost falling I went into the nearest shoe store. Huge mistake. I should have thought go to the last place where you got great shoes and customer service (http://www.yelp.com/biz/clarks-shoes-new-york). Clark's. 993 3rd Avenue, 59 and 60th. Since I am a loyal customer this slip was unfortunate. They make you feel like all shoe retailers operate like they do. It was only four blocks and a few avenues over. That's alot in a city that isn't having their snow cleaned up.

Remember my feet are broken so I'm pretty much always in pain.

This salesperson at Shoemix.com on 665 Lexington between 55 and 56th street told me I should get men's boots when I briefly told him that my feet are arthritic, half broken and I was advised to have them reset. We finally found a pair that wasn't huge. I asked him about the tightness of the leather on my leg. Wouldn't that cut me. He said he never had a customer come back to him with that complaint. He also said I could use rubbing alcohol on the boot. By the time I got home I realized that I would not use rubbing alcohol because that does break down the leather but it also takes the seal off on the dyes that were used and I'm allergic to dyes.

My legs had been cut up by the boots. I took the boots back today. They were worn just to get to the bus but its true their bottoms had been roughed up.

The store, shoemix.com (they gave me a bag with studio 55 footwear on it) refused to take them back. I told them that I had worn out a shoe successfully that came from Clarks. I went back and bought the same style and size but it cut into the back of my feet. Even though I had worn the Clark's shoes on the street to bus to home Clarks immediately took them back without question. As to my wornout through the sole Clarks the store had even offered to replace them for free. I felt that I had received good service from them so I did not consider it.

The salesperson in return told me that he had a lovely couple in the store and they were just the opposite from me. He said the guy said he had learned an expensive lesson that you just wear the shoes in the house for a while. You never wear them on the street.

Ok so this store not only won't take returns but they insult their customers. The salesperson could say that you need to wear the shoes at home before you take them on the street. I just now looked them up on yelp where people log in incredibly satisfying experiences. I could not find Shoemix on Yelp. hmm second lesson I should have taken out my phone and searched on yelp for them, duh. I totally blew my shopping experience.

The salesperson that sold these shoes to me knew I was wearing them on the street and he knew that I had asked about the tightness. Wouldn't you think he would advise to wear them at home before wearing them on the street?

Shoemix is definitely not a company I want to do business with again. Is their shoe defective? I would think so as the leather should not be that stiff against your leg. You would be damaging the shoe to put rubbing alcohol on it. He said to use a butter knife on it. I was thinking that's something they should have done at the manufacturer. The manufacturer of this boot is www.pajar.com made in Canada. I entered my message to them at http://www.pajar.com/en/contact+us . At this link they write:

At Pajar, we care for our customers. If you have any comments, please let us know!

I just let them know about my experience with their boot, the solutions the retailer gave and the retailers refuse on return because of street wear despite they saw that I had a red gash at the point where the upper boot wore on my leg. I did not wear them long.

I don't regret trying to take the boot back. I hope the salesperson who sold this shoe to me took this as a lesson. I doubt it though. It seems I am the only one being given a lesson. The lesson is stick to Clark's. My great aunt paid for those boots by the way. She said to buy some pretty shoes with it. I wish I had.

On the web return of shoes is a hot topic.

I would think that stores are not addressing the problem correctly. Street wear is totally different from home wear, particularly when most apartment buildings require 80% carpeting. The rough streets of New York City particularly during a snow storm are a jungle. Its just not the same test at all. I have a deep red scar on my leg from these shoes. I could have been because of the dyes, but definitely they were rubbing against my legs and making me absolutely miserable for the short time I wore them. They cost $109.

p.s. I had been exploring the vegan solution, the market does not bear it. The Moo Shoes waterproof boots would be rejected by the law firms I work for. I kid you not. Each time I wear my privos I get a call from my agency, they love you but change the shoes. http://www.mooshoes.com/products2.cfm/ID/376/name/Jennifer-Boot-from-Toewarmers/a/3

The City has two codes of ethics, Nah :S

Bloomberg moves his money from the fire and creates his own private equity company to what over business. Hello does this not scream ethics. Mr. Bloomberg is involved in his business and finances and for a city mayor this is not allowed.

I had planned to go to Delancey and Essex street to stand in the cold for 45 minutes and then I might just might get my taxes done. I already did my fed taxes on the free turbo tax. Problem is they do not provide for how much underpayment you forked over to New York State last year. Underpayment caused by your unemployment people not taking the tax you asked them to. Ah yes, New York State, a state that is totally at odds with income and the needs of their impoverished, unbenefited citizens. I thought I would get an amended federal return and the state return done manually at center. I already know how to do it. I just wanted to sign up for benefits at that easier to get to location and arrange for the 2 week job hunting boot camp. I might surprised if they find a loophole for me as well.

Sign our petition telling MTA Chairman Walder to use stimulus dollars BEFORE he hikes our fares:

http://action.workingfamiliesparty.org/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=781

I had an inspiration. Since Monday I am retaking my bartender class during the day in hopes of getting a job like now in that field I'll just walk over to the hard location after class and sign up on Monday. I'll manage to go to the easier location on Tuesday for signing up and getting evaluated for bootcamp. Gee I wonder what their terms are. lol can't wait.

I found this nifty sight for the unemployed to keep their job applications, cover letters etc. Its called becomed.com I'll start using it from today onwards. My two CDS are filled to capacity and my 3" binder can't take it anymore. I laughed yes that is a great book on New York State Labor Department and Age Discrimination: The Ghetto Years.

Since Mayor Bloomberg has not revealed what he is doing to stop the gluttony of the MTA (our transit authority ghouls) I might as well find ways to keep cutting down on use of the much bragged about transportation system of NYC. My feet are broken even though I tried to get that taken care of in the two months of Medicaid benefit given me and now taken away. Still I'll save $5.00 and probably some needless exposure to getting sick. The temperature in my apartment is 81 degrees. Noone seems to care. I have the window up a crack for an hour and its 80 degrees. The landlord has been informed three times and the super told twice in person. They never looked at the radiator. This has been going on a long time.

I don't want to waste my time with 311, they are information, all the wrong information. The departments they link me up to as far as housing go no where. I must say though that they did link me right up with WorkForce1 when they weren't answering the phone on three occasions. WorkForce1 has a huge phone problem. They said they called me to pick up my voucher a week ago. Lol I have a phone system that records every call and every message. There is none from them. I'm used to WorkForce1 holding me back from getting a job. How many times can I tell them that I face age discrimination. That one of the ways to circumvent that is to get a certification and degree with a brand new date. lol to you that is.

I don't know what they'll pipe up with Monday. I'll call them during all my school breaks after class while walking to the benefits place beyond delancey street. There is no way I am going to let them get away with a delay. Trust me if you don't follow up with these people or any governmental official and even 311 and its links you are not going to get anywhere. You must reasonably followup.

I think I might squeeze a month more out of my accounts. $10 a week for food. $0 for transportation. $1100 for rent. I can't afford to have another governmental agency fuck me over though. I rely on the Senators to help me beyond that. I don't need lip service. I am maxed out on lip service.

My hope is that I am able to get a bartending job that is somewhat sustaining. Then I'll be the one not answering governmental calls. I won't need you ever again.

Am I doing one of my businesses? Most certainly. I received wonderful tools that I implemented on one idea. That idea will take some skill, authority and relationship building before it can launch. I gave September 2010 as the launch date. I will squeeze in a few concentrated hours on it a day.

I'm on three agencies list as a top notch legal assistant and I have always been. I correspond with them weekly, replying to their availability queries. Next week I am open for nights and weekends. Even if I get a bartending job I'll still answer my agencies. There is no way I'm letting go of that.

If I look at my life and what I have done for other people as well as myself, the taxes I've paid, the companies I have supported. The universe is way overdue. I'm expecting it to deliver.

When Yes Means No and Bright means Blight

Honestly one would think the future was bright for me.

I graduated from the New York City FastTrac Venture program this week.

I received my WorkForce1IT grant voucher for Paralegal certification today.

but humma Sent the voucher to the school by priority mail and scanned even the stamped receipt with voucher. I received an immediate reply that they would set me up based upon the email.

However they hoped that I had signed the bottom line on the page 2 of the voucher. Something WorkForce1 repeatedly told us not to do. If we did not like the school then after the first week we could change to our second choice.

Since the school is too far away for me to go in and sign the second page after the first week I was told No. I was told not only No but don't blame them blame WorkForce1.

I had written them I have a copy of the second page and I will sign it and mail it to you after the first two days. No.

In legal terms such signature would be valid. They would have two pages with signatures. Both pages would have my original signature. The first signature has nothing to do with them anyway.

I forwarded the conversation to WorkForce1.

As the guy in Texas wrote the government is insane, indeed, he is right. Why is the government trying to blight that guy's reputation. I've been through the absurd of the government and I found nothing wrong with what he said. Then again I'm not a big fat ass.

Get Mad or get Snail Mail 1.0; Get Chuck

So who knows if yesterday's post ever went through. That's what kind of day it was yesterday.

This morning I called HIP from whence the very informative "Sorry to see you go, NOT!" letter came. I convinced the individual who received my call to enter 180 days continuance for me. I need about 30 billing days of that then I'm like, take it, keep it away from me already. These ultra helpful folk stated at the end of the conversation, but you must call Medicaid. I thought they gave me a Yes, but then they gave me a No.

I did call Medicaid. They had no mercy. You did not return the renewal to us. Wait a minute did I call HPD instead, pinch. Nope I called Medicaid. LOL I'm pretty sure there was no renewal. I still get forwarded mail from that address. How come all of their other communications keep coming out of that sore spot in upper Manhattan, forwarded? hmmm

Medicaid logic is mindboggling. If they ended my benefits on January 10 and their communication that I had some benefits was dated May 29 2009 and received way past June, humma? Sure didn't give any time to return such renewal. Do I seem like the kind of person not to give a very important benefit my change of address? LOL I have the Medicaid paper that I was there in their office way after I moved. I wrote my new address on every paper they put in front of me. I called Medicaid four times and complained bitterly to HIP that my address was not being changed and that could result in some communication problems. Just a couple of weeks ago HIP got it, my address is changed with them. Give it up already.

I asked for the Supervisor at Medicaid. She was nice enough but said nothing she can do. She was willing to give me the Board # and the Conference #. LOL no way I'm going to waste my time on months of lawyering again. What is this anyway? Victim month?

I immediately searched for Chuck's FAQ. How to do business with Chuck. Chuck wants Snail Mail 1.0 and a Privacy Act release signed, allowance to discuss what you give him with anyone. For all I care tell Oprah. LOL Alright. Its about time. I appealed to Chuck's first adopter sensibilities, to any edge that he might possess. The first three paragraphs of my Snail Mail 1.0 clearly and adequately informed my reader(s) of the problem and what I needed from Chuck. I attached the paper trail. Then I wrote a story for the next 3.5 pages. That should give him plenty to talk about.

What Chuck Wants, Chuck Gets :)

See Help with Federal Agencies.

Lol it cost me $1.80 to mail that thing, certificate of mailing included. The postal worker was putting the envelope through her thickness tester. She wanted more of my ever dwindling $50 after tax weekly allowance. I told her if it goes over just give it back I'll find someone heavier to sit on it. :P

what a disaster this other domain company was also charging me

It doesn't matter how much you write or call or site-change the domain renewal to manual these companies are designed to make money off of you by autorenewing.

This company can be talked to. They have a reputation at stake.

IPower has a reputation of being the lowest life form on this planet so they have nothing to lose. I do believe their correspondence alone is worthy of a book on what not to do in customer relations.

For each autorenewal of this higher form domain company the bank has been charging me $12.30 a month fee. So even when the domain company makes amends I've still lost a lot of money on the card that charges 40% interest. I never charge anything on it. Its my staying above water mechanism. This company has been sinking me.

I really do believe this paperless statement stuff has sunk me the past six years. When I had paper statements I saw right away the issues and addressed them. Online its this whole mess of are you on your computer? you are not at your computer, password change required. Its very hard. This level of computing sucks!

I have quit affiliate marketing. I had no choice. Our unelected Governor forced the New York affiliate marketers out, that is the affiliate marketers with big Western United States partners. That's why I told the domain companies do not renew. I painstakingly went in and undid all the autorenews that these companies reissued. They keep changing the status back. They are idiots. I made screen prints of my manual changes.

I can wait to get rid of these whores.

I hate the internet.

I was just using facebook for game research on Zynga. I have almost 5,000 "friends".
I can't stand facebook or zynga. Its everything you do not want to do. Zynga made their last idiot move, I'm no longer interested in being cheated by them. I'll just let my account sit there though. Why not? Just go in every now in then for a minute or so and make people feel socially networked with me.

Some people are impressed. I am not. :P ick

Just like Twitter I had 3,000 people within a few days. I'm interesting, except uh they are not. I hardly go there unless I have something to say about our Mojito Mayor. How could anyone trust a social network that suggests to follow celebrities or people who pay to its newbies. That's not social networking and definitely that is not communication. Communication is a two-way street.

Just a tip about the Metropolitan Museum of Fine Art

don't go there after you have eaten at Havana Central.

Havana Central gave us a tiny bottle of their mango salsa.

The security guard at the entrance of the museum pored through my personal purse.

I kid you not. She told me I could not enter the museum with that little gift.

Geekboy and I left the museum. On the way out I told the security guard on the stairs what had happened. He said just go to the security manager on the left side of the museum.

Geekboy did not want to go because it was really obnoxious what we had already been through.

I however said yes, let's give it a try. The supervisor smiled and said you can go in.

We enjoyed our time there. I love to sit in the Modern Art wing and watch people run through Central Park and admired the trendiness of metalsmith's weaponry work in the 500s. Silver beads, light metals. Reminds me of the untenability of New York City. http://www.metmuseum.org/Works_of_Art/arms_and_armor

From my IA file #2

update: alas I have received two other emails telling me that since I did not answer their email within 30 minutes they are closing the issue. I wrote back you will suffer the consequences if you do that. I just completed my letters to the district attorneys.

update: we appear to have a breakthrough at least for the most recent damage. LOL like my landlord one damage at a time. good because I don't have time to do the big file thing. Though its on the list. Its going to get done.

Incredible Ass (IA)

IPOWER.com

http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/scam-and-fraud-c45498.html

For years Ipower has been torturing me.

I assume they have quite a few victims.

I live in New York and unfortunately their company is in Massachusetts.

That means for every time they post a charge on my credit card I would have to deal with two attorney generals.

http://forums.cnet.com/5208-6616_102-0.html?threadID=197840

They have stolen $700 from me in the past six years.

I have pleaded with them through email and on the phone.

I have a 3" binder with all their email correspondence. They always say things like you were on autorenew so therefore you are not entitled to a refund. You needed to give us 30 days notice prior to the renewal. Sorry you are not entitled.

Just Say No to IPower - attempt to gather a Class Suit action 2 years ago

No the problem with IPOWER is that I have not done business with them for six years. They refuse to accept my requests to desist billing me. I have gone through their most inept system and put all domains on manual with a security code. They keep billing me when I least expect it. I've looked and they were messing with domains I have with another service. They are parking on that service. Each time they say I am on auto renew and need to put in a security code. You lose they say.

Well I think I'm calling them on this. I've dug up their state's attorney general and mine and they are getting a fax on monday with a timetable of the abusive correspondence.

There are two hosting companies I do business with and they are honest. I have never had either of those hosting companies tell me a domain that I have on manual is otherwise. I've never been billed for something I have not ordered.

Because the states involved are very weak for helping the small business, the individual, its unlikely they'll do a thing for me. It will take an incredible amount of time to get these jokers the jail sentence they deserve. I don't want to do it. However, I think, you know you might just clean up the sewer on the internet a bit.

hmm we shall see. I'm not spending any money or time on this. The internet is loaded with testimonials from other small businesses and individuals that indeed ipower is a cutthroat business that victimizes people who were once customers but left them because yeah you are stealing from our credit cards.

I did not want to be forced to change my credit card for these fools. I also think it hurts your credit. I think I'll do it. It takes an incredible amount of time, its not simple.

If you want to save yourself a lot of time and money don't do business with them.

The assistant super used about 5 minutes of elbow grease on the refrigerator

Now you know he's not going to take the racks or the plastic junk vegetable bin or any other of the plastic crapola bins and clean.

The used the elbow grease on the sludge that was heated in on the exterior of the frig.

Then he did a wipe down of the inside

It took him longer to get the supplies than it did to do the work.

He said you are still going to have to clean the refrigerator.

I smiled and said thank you.

Yes indeed. I unplugged the refrigerator. I wiped it down with lysol wipes time: 1.5 hours
I steamed it for five minutes in entirety and wiped down 30 minutes.
It still smelled gross and bugs were still coming out of it. I kid you not. I took iphone pictures of some this.

Then I sprayed anywhere 99% of the bacteria should be cleaned. It stopped smelling. 5 minutes

I rest my case. Unhygienic!

I let that stay there for an hour and then wiped it dry to make sure there wasn't any excess..

I plugged in the refrigerator. Within about 3 hours I heard that familiar loud sound of the other one. Water was dripping from the freezer to refrigerator. I wiped it down. I checked back later and the back of the refrigerator part is lightly frosty.

A friend is coming over to look at this. The freezer part was defrosted. This refrigerator had been unplugged well over 24 hours. It could be residual??

Certainly wasn't due to any liquid that I put in there.

Total time a little over 2 hours and not sure if I have a working refrigerator.

In my last apartment where I resided two years I never had a problem with the refrigerator. They said it was new and it looked to be. I noticed however throughout the years that that developer/landlord was always washing out stoves and refrigerators.

I can now appreciate that aspect because this landlord does nothing. I spent five hours cleaning the stove when I moved here. I spent 5 hours cleaning the refrigerator. I spent 5 hours cleaning the bathroom. I spent two hours cleaning the one window. I spent about 8 hours cleaning the closet as it smells like what I now know to be bed bugs. Yesterday for the first time I put these home depot plastic bins in my closet. I had put painters tape on the floor of the closet and to seal in the baseboards.

It smelled like bed bugs in there. Where is another #1 place bed bugs will hide. In loose and unrepaired door framework. Yes sir, the landlords never came to fix that. Even when I asked that they do that again after 7 months of their promise before they would be doing their 5 minute bed bug infestaton removal.

I feel that those bins will be okay. I put painters tape to seal the holes that are part of that product.

I'm trying to get my apartment back to somewhat the way it was.

Love when Republican media bring out their dirt during Democratic season

Lol I found this in my email from Freelancers, a cite to
Business Week -- The Disposable Worker

Sorry to inform you but this has been happening for more than an era.

Rest assured when media uses the word "era" they are clearly telling you we are not giving it to you straight.

Era - "a period marked by distinctive character or reckoned from a fixed point or event"

Postal Service first layoff in history 2008
February 15, 1993 First IBM Workers Layoffs

Advertisers 1980 - 2009 Timeline of layoffs

Shall I go on... I thought not.

The problem is that the New York State Labor Department just dumped alot of fictitious determination zero benefit determinations on people. They 00 out real income on the benefits and left out major employers. They know that it will be hard for most people to understand what is going on. Then they announce to the media that the number of unemployment beneficiaries has dropped as much as 3% in January 2010.

Another problem is that prior to that lie, media reported that Temporary work was a great way to enter the market for college students. That the increase in temporary work was a sign of a recovery. Not so I've been doing temporary work for six years and that work has ceased. If you do a search on legal you'll find that even lawyers out of law school and some with at least 10 years experience are not getting jobs.

The problem is that the people who can afford to consume stopped consuming "to help the economy." What they did was cut off the circulation of the economy. No one said the rich were smart, they are vultures and exploiters and have no conscience, but they are not smart.

Its very simple, capitalism relies on people to spend. If you are going to say you are capitalist then act like one else I think we need a huge revolution in this country starting with closing shop in Albany, New York.

How can you tax someone $440 when they made no money?
That is what my online calculation revealed yesterday.
No fear I forgot for quite a few years Albany has been overcharging me and it doesn't get added into the federal calculation because if you use these tax programs made by capitalists State returns are the the last ones done and in the free editions you cannot change the taxes.

Tomorrow I'll be asking someone to help me get that money returned so that Albany can have $440 come April 15, 2010. Will they buy cheap hotel rooms for their escorts with the money? LOL suppose so.

A dog a democrat? Not if he/she barks.

My aunt was sent a dissertation on the life of a particular dog called "my dog".

I found 1,200,00 references to "my dog is a democrat" on the internet.

This link seems to be the source:

http://www.tiftontalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9283

My aunt wrote me something really neat about all this discussion of dog politics.

"The dog that barks" doesn't have it quite as
easy as the descriptions in this email.
I replied that might his owners be Republican?

See further I have this Barking Dog Diary.

Coyotes, Raccoons and Fruit Bats, oh my!

Keep close to the advice I give about health care in New York City, be informed, take charge, its your body!

Coyotes in Central Park, from the Urban Hawks (via Geekboy):

"ice of The Pool, which is in the northwest corner of the park up at 102nd Street east of Central Park West.

There were Park Enforcement Police chasing after it. Given how they were chasing the coyote (from their cars!), it should stay free for quite awhile."--Urban Hawks

My aunt sent me an email about Totallly Surrealistic

I looked up the term and found a wonderful article about the loss of differentiation in the world and the need for surrealism. The attachment to my aunt's email are below:
"I am Surrealism," Salvador Dali had declared, allowing Surreal philosophy, that is, absence of all control exercised by reason or morality, to possess him completely.--

Well there I deleted some gripe posts last night

and I plan to relocate the other dark posts to one of the many domains I own. Well to be fair many people have written me that because of my writings they knew so much more about the laws and governance of New York City and they were glad they did. I'll keep kicking some ass in the castles in New York State I just am not going to sacrifice this blog for it anymore.

I was thinking of blogging again. Really blogging. I have to check Westlaw and see if our Gov, your honor not the shoe thing again's Amazon law had affected just having a few sponsors. Would their products that are sold anywhere in New York City be taxed more than just sales tax? Perhaps the Freelancer's Union will be having a seminar on that.

The above thoughts give me incredible nightmares; not another legal issue to add to my 6" binder; I don't think they make anything bigger than that.

hmm

Still I am determined to give back the best to trendy this week.

I was thinking of some of the people who have commented on this blog (BOT)'s posts and some of the magazine editors from abroad and even in the United States who linked it up. Well duh, some people don't even have that.

So I went to the Brazen Careerist to just read a successful blog. Yes this is great, she keeps the tempo up everyday no matter how down matters might be.

I love her twitter three days ago about someone I should know but didn't know. The author of "You are Not a Gadget Manifesto." I love manifestos and this is one you should not miss. Jaron Lanier is right on target about how the crowd thing has taken away the individual thing and basically we have a bunch of followers in this country for sure. That is why there is no momentum no matter how you apply the shock pads stimulus package.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/You-are-Not-Gadget-Manifesto/dp/1846143411/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1261538252&sr=8-1

I bet you Jaron Lanier [author of "You are Not Gadget Manifesto"] saw triples in traffic the day that Penelope Trunk [author of Brazen Careerist] wrote:

"Fighting with Jaron Lanier live on BBC. Then BBC cut me off to shut me up. I was thinking he's an idiot, then I saw he's keynoting at SXSW."--

With the above twitter word limit you get the essence of who Jaron is and you want to know more. Now that is art! That's exciting.

100% will take time but I firmly believe you have to have some velocity going despite all that is down if you ever want to get up again.
