The Job Hunt program starts off with SWOT. Now that is far out. SWOT is a powerful tool and you can use it not only for your business but for your job search.
Strengths
Weaknesses
Opportunities
Threats
Huh? Bootstrapping is my financial source for my business. I can't launch until I have a job.
Until bootstrapping is off the ground I daily and steadily work on the core and fundamentals of the business. That's free. Legal intellectual property, feasibility studies and starter contracts.
SIBL offers live interactive sessions and one-on-one consultations. I have no problems in an interview but I have not received an interview all these months lol outside of assistance ones (they said I have a great presence and present myself well).
I have a great resume that I have passed through keyword scanners, taken to resume classes, put before agencies with How am I doing? and even Workforce1 IT Grant Review.
I think I'll park myself over at SIBL for a while and get some one-on-one with my resume. That was the disappointing part about the Job Hunt #1 it really did not add anything for me as to the age discrimination thing, how to get the interview. Bah! I've definitely done the reach out and touch me thing. I looked at the 50+ blog hello that should be like 100+. I know computers, networking and software development far far better than the young people. I did not go to school with computers either. :P my mind is sharp and no there is no problem with my neck :P
Even if you are like me with no money for transportation and might not be able to do the roundtrip by walking, you can achieve a lot of work online with SIBL.
SIBL runs business award contests. The Business Plan competition entry ended December 2009. Entrants are allowed to attend one Business Plan course, i.e. the one running now is for Developing Financial Statements
I found this retail business video online at SIBL. I am not going to have a retail business rather my business will serve retail etc businesses (b2b). Information is good.
If you want to start a business I highly recommend the NYC FastTrac Entrepreneur progam. Its a lifetime program that keeps on giving. Hopefully we all will have value businesses that create some great jobs with benefits soon. Check it out for yourself and I hope you get in.
Definitely keep permanently tuned in to Sramana Mitra's Ambassador program and read her Forbes articles: http://www.forbes.com/2009/12/08/entrepreneurship-leadership-india-technology-sneak-peek-10-mitra.html There is a startup pitch roundable tomorrow. Check out her blog for details. At least join the support group if you can't devote five hours every week to adding value to the group.
