From Whence is Rock Bottom?

Bloomberg had a response, he said, to those questioning the plan’s viability: “Fuhgeddaboudit. We’re not cutting back. We’re not turning back. We’re still on course to hit our affordable housing targets on time.... Some of us are old enough to remember what New York was like when the city seemed to hit bottom in the ’70s. We saw what decades of housing abandonment and neglect did to our communities. And we’re not about to let it happen again. Not now. Not ever.”--NYU Law Furman Center Event
The 70s, Violin and Childhood Quilt, a modeling agency, housing that constantly let you down
Now please I was a mighty young girl when I brought myself with violin and childhood quilt to New York City circa 1972. No special provisions given to me. I funded myself with babysitting money. I had an interview with the world's top modeling agency. Lol I just wanted to venture forth in the world and it was my excuse. Once I found out yes I was in well then I said no. Lol I proved that I was "beautiful." I refused to sell myself off that way. My beautiful daddy had told me but I had to find out to really know. Lol and I did venture forth into the world.

Typist? lol I was a Texas typing champ (people have said I would not tell people that if I were you).
I worked all hours as a typist, a conference typist at the UN at night, an assistant to the investment bankers at night, cutting their type and professionally pasting it in the right place. Fending off so many employers bombastic advances. I kicked ass even in those days. I put them in their place. I moved on up and up and up. I of lots of enviable certifications in the IT world; lots of experience. I still have plenty of brainpower to go so watch out!

Housing in the 70s?
The City went bankrupt a few months after I arrived.
42nd, Grand Central, YWCA sold housing to Health and Racket Club and kicked us all out in a month.
W 13th, Markle, Salvation Army they kicked out all us young girls to renovate for senior citizens only after a few months.
72nd Street, a Nun's convent. after 6 months I decided to go to London and Paris as a model. lol I got my certificate in French from a place that did not speak English. That was really fun looking back. I really starved because I would not be a model. Especially when I was in this place across from St. Paul's in London with Twiggy's photographer and he said I was the new Marilyn Monroe. I did not even know who she was but I did not want to be the new anyone. My pictures were on Bond Street in London. Fun looking back.
I returned to New York and got my own apartment on West 71st street. It was an SRO and they kicked out all of these aging musicians. I cried when I found out. Equity owns the place now and they charge $3000 for the tiny room that started out $200 but wound up to be $700 before I left 7 years later. The entire time they were constructing all over me. One thing I must tell you is that people were not smoking like they are too day. People had decorum. Though its true right around the corner a monster burned me with a cigarette as she was flailing about with her cigarette walking on the street.

I moved with drummer boy to the burned out section of Park Slope. I think you've got the picture. At least the bright side of the picture. Pure, unadulterated bootstrapping. No help from the city. Lol we did not even have the internet then. I had BBS online though. I was totally in to the information technology from 1968 because I wanted to know.

Yesterday was the first time I applied for food stamps in my life. This is a statement about the city and its discriminations. For I bootstrapped myself to where people with Ph.D's don't go years ago and then I fell because of incredible legislation by President Clinton's democratic Congress that is continued on to this day.

For this food stamp process I had to pay $10 transportation fees and walk through no sidewalk places. I had to get screening in one place 2 hours and then at the food stamp place at 14th street for 5 hours. 5 hours with CNN propaganda programming me. They put your information in the system and they finger print you. They lie about what it means to be in the system. I have to do it because I don't know what the future is. Its just one less stress for me.

Free financial and legal services, finally
In the process I did acquire financial and legal services so I can kick Shitibank's ass and Lenox Hill's ass [after all I've done I received a bill collector threat yesterday] and my current landlord's ass. I will be given 45 Minutes for each. I have my powerpoint presentations for such service ready for next week. PowerPoint? Yes because I already know that I know more than they do. What I want is their connection. I will give a simple 5 minute presentation so when they do their manipulative stuff, I'm like Slide 5. Its a war out there.

I just want to get some of this NYC garbage off of me so I can proceed to my mayoral path. Lol I'll have billions before I come to office. I'll do good for the people instead of poverty figureheads and rich buddies and customers. I have already done good for the people but in the next years I will be doing so much more. I was not able to get my Community Board app in because of the sudden drop in my unemployment and medicaid. I have to deal with that. I was at the last two crucial and needed tests. The only tests I needed and Medicaid dropping me after 5 months of service when asked they stated haughtily that they had sent me a recertification and I had not answered. I asked for Proof and they had none. They had not done so. I gave it to Chuck Schumer over a week ago via snail mail and have heard nothing. Yesterday I reapplied from scratch. I was told it will take 8 weeks to be approved. The only expedition is for pregnant women. I have this bet going who is going to get there first Chuck Schumer or my app? And when Chuck Schumer's crew gets there well they will have learned a valuable lesson.

Housing in the Bloomberg era?

Housing. No I am sorry Mayor Bloomberg but opportunities for housing were far better in the 70s. I'm not saying easy, by no means, not easy. Which would put a light on how incredibly difficult housing has been in the artificially extended Bloomberg era.

Difficult? Valueless housing that is trillions overvalued, overinflated. If you took an introspective look you'd find it is the core of the economic blight. For sure.

What is affordable housing in Mr. Bloomberg's world?

Its Section 8 housing wait list closed since 2007. Its people living in cardboard boxes, dying there, people being transported in the homeless white truck to the boundaries of the city, plane tickets to people who have someone who will vouch for responsibility at the other end. Those people often just come right back to the city.

Its minimum $20,000 for low income people. Its providing affordable housing for those making $70,000 and above. Its Mr. Bloomberg's daughter with a $2.2 million loft in Soho. Affordable for who? Its Mr. Bloomberg starting his mayoral career with $100 million and now with over several billion dollars.

It is corrupt housing and civil courts where you have to be a formidable power like me to win. It is a credit reporting service for landlords that make thousands homeless because some lawyer told them to put their rent in escrow and the landlord took them to court. When a landlord takes you to court its all over for you. You are now a victim of the non-uniform funded by the tenant Landlord credit reporting system. Just love it my last agent charged $150 for a credit check. I watched him commingle the money. Lol commingle hardly the credit check fee is outside of the law. Another company charges just $25 credit check. People constantly lose their credit check fees when its found that a slum landlord took them to court because they fixed their plumbing and rat problem. The tenant loses, not the city, not the landlord and most assuredly not the corrupt housing court.

I realize I am special, I have common sense and experience. The guy below me said about the grossly malfunctioning toilet that went on for 8 months to not pay rent. My friend who owns a coop said do not pay rent. I paid rent. I finally caught the super and brought him in to fix it. I have a record of all that. Now we be going to court for that and other things. They will of course be given the right to settle or as they have put it to me on day one for inquiring about the neighbor's bed bug warning, suffer the penalty. Who do ya thing is going to win despite the corruption. I believe sir it will be me. It will show the dereliction of the City run agency, HPD and the impotence of 311. It will show that affordable housing is a misnomer for further cushioning the butts of the fat hogs of the financial district.

Isn't it true that affordable housing really means affordable for the landlords?

Lol I have never ever had a break on my rent. One thing for sure when Bloomberg became mayor the landlords stopped fixing their apartments. Now why is that?
