I've been going to WorkForce1 frequently to try to get extra training. Of course I am a principal software developer and administrator, certified in Microsoft Office applications and have assisted the top bankruptcies that this world has had to offer. Decades of experience. So why on earth would I need training and why would I be out of job. I don't need training in those things I need to be a decade younger. New York State is one of the largest distributors of age discrimination.
Ok so they told me I could not add the Pell Grant to the training I chose and that the training was also on their hit list. That was around about July 2009. Then just a week ago when I finally settled on their inadequate training offering I received a letter. It was the day before I was to turn the grant offering in. The letter was a brag letter about how Obama had put into action that Pell Grant may be used for the unemployed to support WorkForce1 training and such action was effective in May 2009.
At any rate I will turn in my grant utilizing the Pell Grant. Now lets see what those lamos are going to do. They don't want me to be in the fields I have expertise in. Real estate management is what they want and that I will be in low income real estate management. LOL Let me have em I'll set them straight!!!!!
And let's see I also won marketing awards and have put up my own websites for decades. Well the reason why I can't make any money is because the Governor put into effect a couple of years ago, the Amazon law, whereby all my affiliate relationships severed such affiliate relationships in my state. Ah but no, not good enough for them, they open the wound today in a letter see below:
"As most of you are probably aware, North Caroline, New York and Rhode Island have enacted new legislation, which revises the definition of "Retailers" to include those entities that use resident representatives in the manner described in the statute. As a result of this legislation, such Retailers must begin collecting sales tax from state residents.
After careful review of the implications of this requirement, we believe it is best for Sharper Image to suspend transactions with any affiliate who appears to be a resident representative in North Carolina, New York or Rhode Island as defined by legislation, until further notice.
As a result of this legislative change, we will be terminating our agreement with you effective immediately. All customer referral mechanisms operated by you that generate sales will be disabled. Sharper Image will, however, reimburse you for any sales generated through today.
We deeply regret that we must take this action and we will closely watch the developments in this area. If this law changes again, we hope to be able to resume business with you in the future. We thank you for your participation in the Sharper Image Affiliate program."
Ah well effective December 1, 2009 yet another governmental agency will clamp down on all marketing hints in all websites. Lol and you know they'll go after the small fry who don't have lawyers. Let me have 'em I was in civil court for 1.5 years tons of experience.
I was signing up for the Kaplan 2 day bootcamp in entrepreneurialship and then yet again another governmental interference. New York State wants all of its small fry to pay unknown people's public transportation. Lol I'll go back to it but I need to get more info. Am I just going to be filling out paperwork and giving them money or am I going to be running a business?
LOL currently the state afforded me minimal unemployment by a devise called "well you have just enough quarter to get unemployment." Emergency and extensions? No you have to use up every ounce that you have. I am trying to get the WF1 training instead of just getting a federal grant because of the unemployment. Its way substandard training. I'd rather spend my time getting a real education that means something on the job market. Not just a lead in to a job that is ripping you off. The paralegal internships would pay me nothing, imagine, me who was paid over $80K in the legal field in 1972. That was when they paid you for what you were worth not by your age or the color of your skin. We've come along way in human rights ;)
