Mayor Bloomberg and City Council reduced the distance you may smoke in front of hospital buildings, great!

Now can you tell that my support for Bloomberg is a high form of sarcasm ??

Besides banning smoking within 15 feet of hospital entrances and exits, the law also bans smoking within 15 feet of the entrance or exit of a hospital's outdoor grounds. The law will apply to hospitals, health care facilities including diagnostic and treatment centers, and residential health care facilities.

The Law in New York is that you should not smoke within 100 feet of buildings, and is this enforced? No.

A couple of years ago I wrote one of the mayor's commissioners regarding the smoking at bus stops, in the subway and its tunnels and escalators and they said they would give it a think, ha!

So really I think this is just a press release and nothing more. Perhaps if the scuzzy New Yorkers would just stand still in one given place with their cigarette instead of weaving in and out of crowded streets and roads waiving their lit cigarette in our air, hmm, the person entering the hospital would not be doing so.

Thank you tremendously Mayor Bloomberg for all your campaign efforts, after two terms, ha!
