Ok I am a tenant of bed bug mayhemville
These landlords are clueless. Three months ago I moved in and was told by a neighbor that there were bed bugs here. She didn't know how long I would stay (clue as to what goes on in this building) but don't buy any new furniture and don't put anything on the floor. There are holes in all the floors in the building and the bed bugs are coming through them.
I ask the landlords about this matter (as well as the smoking tenants in the public areas and the surrounding apartments (they are liars as well and they put it in writing that they don't have smoke problems and if they did they would take care of it). The landlords response was manipulative and harassing (ok the civil court pro se's office said mild harassment, but show it to the housing judge clerk). Do you consider this mild? "You don't like our building then move out in 24 hours or suffer the penalty. I ask them what is the penalty? Pay us two years rent by tomorrow. They tell me that I am a squatter as they haven't returned my lease but have two months deposit plus rent. When I say that I have received mail here they tell me I am a professional squatter" Ok they are retarded but I think this is more than mild harassment, I was so shocked at what they said. About them delivering a filthy apartment to me, thank you and on and on. Creepos and lameos put this one with the last landlord.
I figure something is wrong with my closet because my clothes are smelling musty and they itch. I take everything out of the closet and steam it and wash my clothes and put them in plastic bags. It took forever to do that.
Then about two months later this guy with a fumigation gun knocks on my door (Saturday morning about an hour after a guy had hammered on my door and asked if I was hammering at 9am in the morning, right). I ask the gun guy what kind of fumigation and before he can answer a neighbor tackles him and drags him to their apartment. I never see the guy again.
All the fumigation smells come in my apartment and bugs start coming up my bathtub pipes. My eyes start flashing on both sides, and those clouds or spider like things pass before them, later there is film going across my eyes. I research it on the internet and it claims this happens to your cornea after 50. Hmm I'm way past 50 and an eye doctor checked my eyes a couple of years ago and said I had excellent vision. Still these signs are serious, while they may go away, they may not be standard dues for age, they may be the sign of eye damage, disease or blindness.
I'm pretty shaken how in the world am I going to afford an eye doctor?
Then it comes to me these bugs and this fumigation have caused this; some of these bugs were aggressively going at my eyes, I recall being pretty shocked at their agressiveness and wondering what happens when I am able to get a few winks of sleep at night. This is a living nightmare and trust me the city will not do anything, they have their pat little protocol that covers normal situations. You have to take your sponsor apartment landlord to housing court and well, since civil court is totally corrupt, why would you do that? You won't, you are just going to have to work on them yourselves, meaning twitter, facebook and this blog.
These bed bugs and whatever have scattered to this apartment. These landlords knew they had a bedbug problem yet they allowed an exterminator to come in and scatter the bedbugs. The bedbugs can go down the halls, they don't need a body. When you use pesticides bedbugs are not affected but they will move onto more pleasant hunting grounds; i.e. meaning my non-fumigated apartment.
I was aggressively and viciously attacked by these bed bugs with over 50 bites on my bottom and inner thighs. They got inside me because they were in a few of my bathroom visits. I was very ill for a few days, I am very white but I was beyond white and fainting. I have no insurance so I must just try to survive. Just like a couple of years ago I was so sick I got jaundice I just had to survive. That's just the way it is. Like the guy on TV said today if you can't afford a hummer well you can't afford it. I did wonder what catastrophic illness coverage would cost, he was so hip on it. I knew he wasn't educated, that's for sure, wow, duh!
These bedbugs attacked my neck and veins at my ankles last night. Fortunately the refurbished vacuum cleaner came today (I borrowed the money from my 401k plan) and I have hopes that using it frequently might help a great deal.
One thing for sure the health department doesn't know what it is talking about again. I did the work and found that the bedbugs will go anywhere on your body where they can get blood. If bedbugs can't find a human being they'll settle for a rat, a pigeon and on and on. They carry over 40 pathogens. Most people don't know what is happening to them, just like cigarette smoke, they never attribute the health problem to these landlord created problems because the sham of a health department puts out propaganda no known cases or we don't do that. Duh! that's because nobody can afford a doctor, a clinic or a hospital.
These pathetic landlords (who by the way brag that they are vastly better than my last beyond pathetic landlords) did nothing and they knew they had a problem after the fumigation. Weeks later they sent a bed bug beagle around and it found bed bugs at the far end of my bed. Great near where my head lies at night or my feet might be sometimes. That explains all the bed bugs in the bathtub, they are falling off my body and my hair. These landlords did not do one single thing.
I wrote them an email about five days later when the infestation was getting even worse and they did not answer. They took 7-8 days to write a letter that had a ton of misinformation and confusion in it. They were going to charge me for a vacuum, for pesticides, for bags, for a bed bug cover my mattress (wait a minute I don't have a mattress I have a duo leather couch sofa bed). They wanted me to do all this work and spend all this money and I live at the poverty line, I don't even have anything to eat but a few pieces of fruit a day. Give me a break, these dodos are way too much.
Then a few days after the letter arrived a flyer was placed under each unit's doors stating that in less than two days there is going to be a fumigation of each unit. I emailed them and said that if you don't close up the cracks and holes first and if you use pesticides in this apartment or in the building while I am in it I will consider such acts negligence. They did not answer (ok a clerk answered that the email was passed on to the higher powers of which have so far ignored me). Yeah, because I saw about 20 of them figuring out how to put the second door to the building back in (a long story but I did think how many lamo landlords does it take to put a door in a building). I would have had that done long time ago, instead they put us through this banging front door 24 hours for several weeks so far. That door bent my key to pieces, good thing I had made a bunch of copies.
I also informed the above lameos that I had a sofa bed and it is infested and I read that you can't do anything with it, its gone. I wanted to know if they are getting rid of it and if they are replacing it. No answer, just ignored.
Obviously they think that since I have no money I have no power. Think again bud. Let's see what they do tomorrow and then if they continue to be the lame-o's they've been so far well, thunderwoman! will appear.
